Snake Jev
A desktop Snake experiment where Jev assesses the board each tick and Python combines its answers into a move; one recorded run reached 29 foods in 461 ticks before trapping itself.

Highlights
- Each tick makes one real API request with nine questions: wall collision, body collision, and food progress for turn left, straight, and turn right.
- Code composes only Jev's answers: it prefers food progress among collision-free actions, then lowest assessed collision risk, then straight.
- Inputs per direction are moves_before_wall, body_distance_moves, and food_offset_moves; behind is observed but not an available action.
- Redacted traces in .jev_traces/ hold the request, the API answers, the code composition, and before/after board snapshots.
- The agent detects immediate hazards but does not plan a route through the full body layout, so an incorrect assessment can still kill the snake.

MIT-licensed. Needs uv, a desktop with OpenGL support, and your own Jev API key (JEV_API_KEY); tested on macOS with Python 3.12, other platforms are unverified, and each tick may incur API charges.

Navigating Neo4j with Jev
Jev Show more
Reranking 33,047 catalog entries
Six uses that stuck after 60 days
I've been using Jev by @typesafeai Here's the six things i've tried and am confident I'll still use Jev for 60 days from now. There's many more experiments, ideas, and things I think I will use it for. It's a big deal (more on why in next post). But I am only sharing things Show more
Security decisions that fit Jev
This made me rethink where AI actually fits into security engineering. For purely engineering work, forget about ChatGPT or Claude. TypeSafe AI just released Jev, and I think it’s going to change how we build AI into security workflows. Instead of asking an LLM to “investigate Show more
